Casino Talks Resume in Oklahoma

Casino talks are resuming in Oklahoma as the Eastern Shawnee tribe are trying to bring a casino project to Warren County,Oklahoma.

The Eastern Shawnee tribe of Oklahoma and the city of Monroe are again discussing a potential deal that might bring a casino to Warren County, the Hamilton Journal-News reported Tuesday.

The West Seneca, Okla.-based tribe is now proposing a $300 million to $350 million casino complex for a 123-acre site in the city and Turtlecreek Township, according to the story.

Back in 2004, the tribe wanted to build the casino at the Corridor 75 business park, then considered an option on a site at Greentree and Union roads. In the meantime, voters rejected a ballot issue that would have allowed casino gambling in Ohio.
